Hi, i recently got in Rutgers, transferred from mcc with 42 credits. problem is im taking calc 2, analytical physics 2, and chem2. the workload was huge, and i end up having C in calc 2 and physics 2, and im going to have to drop chem 2 because of bad grade (D)... what are my chances of getting my admission revoked?? any help would be greatly appreciated, cause this situation is killing me.

Thats not looking too hot ![]()
but the only way to find out is contact admissions, atleast give them a heads up, maybe if you retake chem 2 in the summer they will be more forgiving, but again, contact them.
Good luck!

i was rescinded from HS with three D’s and an F on my final transcript. however, i think at worst you will likely be given a chance to explain why you had bad grades via a letter asking to explain why. i know people who have avoided getting rescinded by giving good reasons, whether they are true or complete fabrications.

thx, i’ll call them tomorrow see whats up. it sucks because the problem caused all this is analytical physics… at rutgers its a full year course, in mcc its 1 semester covering 14 chapters, with about 30-40 hw questions per week. and if you took physics, you would know that is a ridiculous amount, as each hw i hand in is about 10-12 pages of hand written work… with that and the infamous calc 2… i just got overwhelmed. i don’t plan on telling them excuses, because there were none, but i will explain the situation is not exactly what i would like to find myself in, but that is life. i had to make the call of dropping the class, or fail all 3… i just hope they understand

just to let you know, i offered a similar explanation for my senior grades. i said i “over-extended myself” and apparently it wasnt good enough.

i dont know what to say man. hope for the best that nothing happens. if you REALLY want to transfer out, maybe you should think about applying to other schools just in case, if thats possible.

but, if you get the letter, you could theoretically lie and say that you were going through some problems. but its up to you and your morals.

i called rutgers, they told me to email them lol. sigh i should’ve just took easy classes to maintain the grade…

ur almost guaranteed to get a letter now since u put a circle around urself lol

Just say that you underestimated the workload of your classes…
I’m guessing you have Professor Montana for physics

LOL yes! i have him for analytical physics lol… the whole point of revoking admission is to avoid people getting lazy, well i never got lazy, it was just too much work. i plan to walk in and show them that huge stack of hw i did lol. the class started with like 35-40 pplz, there is about 13 of us left now

Yeah I’m in Montana’s general physics, when i see your assigned hw, i was so happy. ![]()
I’m like damn, my hw is cake next to his!!
I’m not sure how many kids dropped in our class, but a very decent amount. I’m also taking Calc 2 like you… we have a similar schedule except i’m in gen chem 1. haha
and if they give you the opportunity… if you end up retaking analytical physics in Rutgers, you will probably ace it.

im doing ok in physics, i think i can manage to get a B, but its takign so much time, all my other classes are suffering. who do you have for calc 2? i got dr. aloff… his tests are not making things easy for me

Physics is the most demanding class i have so far, but i plan on taking the MCAT’s so i dont mind the extra effort to learn it cold. I’m on the borderline of a B+/A- in his class.
I have Dr. Rakova for Calc 2…shes an extremely nice professor, but calc 2 made me hate math. I can’t wait till this is over, i never want to take a math course again. Whats your intended major?

currently engineering science but when i get to rutgers im switching to dual degree program, for physics and civil engineer

At least you will have a great foundation in physics

thats if rutgers doesn’t revoke me lol, if they do i don’t think i can handle another year at MCC, i grew tired of it

I don’t mind the CC, besides the horrible drivers and annoying labs, they are quite swell.

im actually worried a little as well of being revoked admission. I stated on my application that I was taking four courses this semester at Brookdale .However I had to drop two of them for personal reasons. I called the admissions department and I told them that the dropped courses would not affect my graduation with my AA but it didnt really help that much lol. They they said they were not very happy about me dropping those two courses but if i get “good grades” in my two remaining courses then it will look good for me. Just do the best you can with your remaing courses and hope for the best. Believe me, im working 150% at these two courses i have left to get at least a B.

Did you get revoked because I’m freaking out because I over estimated what I would handle and I wound up dropping my one class and then failing another but getting and A and B in my others 2. what did you do? I go to CCM.
