Chance of Getting into ANY top tier school

My son has recently applied to Exeter, Andover, SPS, Deerfield,Choate, Lawrenceville.

We aren't real educated on the admissions process-I'm a U of Chicago graduate-but when I went there, we had fairly few prep school products

MY son has and 87% SSAT
(707 Verbal, 713 Math,767 Reading)

We are a home school family-so grades aren't really an issue. He spent last summer at Exeter's program for junior high school students and really liked it and would like to go back.

Our major considerations are a good arts program, good financial aid options. His sports include Fencing, Tae Kwon Do, tumbling, running. I'm disabled as is his older brother(I had serious complications from a minor surgery and his older brother is a non-verbal autistic).

What would folks place the odds of getting into ANY of these schools.

Does anyone have any suggestion for a backup plan(schools that might accept a late application that have financial aid resources)?

Thanks!

I know several schools that have rolling admission, but admittance for late applicants who also require FA is extremely rare.

As for your son’s chance, his SSAT scores are definitely competitive enough (though his Math section may be a bit low for Exeter), and his ECs may place him in good standing. Other than that, I–we–really can’t speak for the schools’ AO’s.

March 10 is looming near. Be patient, have your fingers crossed, and best of luck to all!

Because he doesn’t have grades or real what the AO’s would consider “unbiased” recommendations his application is going to depend fairly on his interviews and essays. Good Luck

Actually, he was in Exeter’s summer program in summer 2011-so he has recs from teachers at Exeter-which may help a bit.
