Chance of getting into UCD with TAG?

I just finished my first semester in community college, and I am applying as a statistics major with a computational statistics option at UC Davis, in fall 2019. My plan is to be at UC Davis by fall 2020.

But my question is, would I be able to get accepted if I am still taking required math classes by spring 2020? I would be finished with all of the other required classes by fall 2019 except for math because of many prereqs that I have to take.

Would I still be able to get accepted if I finish all of major prep by Spring 2020? My current GPA is 3.46 and am planning to bring it up by the time I apply to UC’s.

Also I’m not sure how TAG works with impacted/highly selective majors at UC Davis. As long as I fulfill all of the requirements, and keep the minimum gpa, is it truly guaranteed acceptance at UCD?

Also why are the acceptance rates at Davis so high?

As long as you complete all the course requirements by Spring prior to transfer and maintain the required GPA, your TAG will be accepted. Statistics is not a selective major but starting in Fall 2020, Mathematics will be a selective major and selective majors usually have a higher GPA eligibility for their major courses.

If you look at the 2017 stats (2018 not available), Statistics had only a 27% yield so UCD needs to accept 3x to 4x as many applicants to the fill the spots. Also students that TAG are guaranteed admission which does increase the acceptance rate.
