Ucd tag

Suppose i have a tag with uc davis for premanagerial economics and my overall gpa is maintained to be higher than 2.8 by the end of spring. However if my gpa is lower than 2.8 in the 5 courses of calcc (2), statistics (1), Econ (2) does it mean i do not get in for that specific major. Why would my tag be accepted in the first place if i do not have a 2.8 in 4 out of those 5 courses. Have they accepted my tag because i still havent taken my statistics class yet? OR does this all mean they have accepted me for having a gpa > 2.8 but they would not give me my major. What is supposed to happen next? Can i still opt the department for the major by retaking the specific classes i got Cs, B- in ?

Thank You.

i doubt that grounds for acceptance is the fact that you haven’t taken a class yet.

if your ogpa is above the minimum then your TAG stands…i guess that was your question (not sure though)

why worry? you were accepted. You have a TAG adviser who can answer questions like these w/o a problem, why not ask them?

i know the tag has been accepted I’m also sure of the fact that i will have a gpa > 2.8 by end of spring, but i am still worried… The only thing that is troubling me is that on the assist website it says i need a gpa > 2.8 for those 5 courses of managerial economics. Now what if my gpa is slightly lower than 2.8 in just those 5 courses? There is no point being accepted in a college and being without a major.
I hope im clearer this time.

thanks again

you answered your own question. I looked on assist and it says
*
"For entrance to the managerial economics major, students must complete the
following courses with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.80:

Economics 1A,1B;
Statistics 13;
Mathematics 16A and 16B or Mathematics 21A and 21B"*

you have less than a 2.8 in these classes, meaning that you will not be admitted to UCD for man econ.
Your TAG was approved b/c they don’t know that your GPA for these 5 courses will be below a 2.8. Will your GPA slip below a 2.8 for these subjects by the end of fall 09? or was it already below before this semester?

im guessing the former…

It was already below 2.8 in 4 out of the 5 courses. This is what i do not understand :(

Ive made such big mistakes throughout my 1 year in college. I’ve not yet taken even 1 W. im so stupid. If i had, my gpa would had been so much better :(. Whats done can not be undone :(

no one on here has seen your transcript or TAG contract…talk to your counselor or TAG rep…

On my tag contract it says

"Units:

You have completed the math admission requirement.

Major Course(s) Required:

You have completed the course requirements for admission to your major.

Admission to UC Davis in pre-managerial economics does not guarantee admission to the managerial economics major. Students apply in the “Managerial Economics, Pre-” category of the UC application. Completion of and performance in prerequisite courses is critical in determining acceptance to the managerial economics major following admission to UC Davis. After completing your first quarter at UC Davis, you may petition the department for admission to the major. You must receive a letter grade in each course and only the first repeat of any pre-major course will be considered in your petition review. For entrance to the managerial economics major, students must complete the following courses with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.80: Economics 1A/B; Statistics 13; Mathematics 16A/B or Mathematics 21A/B. The courses listed above may be completed at community college or at UC Davis. "

Will they allow me to retake these courses at davis or will my tag get cancelled at the time of admission?

Thanks anonymousername, i will go ask the davis rep the following week.
