At this point I'm a junior and haven't taken the SAT yet, but with a 3.28 GPA, what are my chances of getting into Western Washington University? My GPA will hopefully go up next year so I might not even have to worry, but I'm curious.

I think you’ve got a decent shot. I did a bit of digging on Western’s website for admissions statistics and found this link: see esp. p. 12-13 of http://west.wwu.edu/institutional_research/documents/CDS2008_2009.pdf for information on GPA and test scores of admitted students. It looks to me like your GPA is a little low but not necessarily too low, and that taking challenging classes holds more weight than grades alone. Anyway, I’m by no means an expert on this, but I think if you continue to challenge yourself in high school, write a good admissions essay, and do decently on the SAT, you have a very good chance. I’m a Western grad, by the way :)

I agree with the above poster. With a little refining, I think you’re well within reach!
