Chance of me getting into Deerfield Hotchkiss St Andrew's, DE

CHANCE ME!!!!

Hi I am from NY but i am originally born in Taiwan.
I am applying for 9th grade (I am in 8th Grade)
I really want to get into these schools so don't be afraid to tell the truth

I had a great interview and all the admissions officers liked me and they all sent me holiday cards.
I wrote really good essays and I had OK recommendations from my Math and English teachers because they thought I was a trouble maker (they like me now). But I know I got an amazing recommendation from my History teacher because he really likes me.

In Athletics....
Swimming (7yrs): In swimming I am on the Varsity team ( I've been on the team since 7th grade) This year we went undefeated and I came in top ten in all my events in counties.
I also swim in a private team and my team is 15th in the nation.
I have ZONES and Junior Olympic times in swimming
Football (3yrs): I am a starter, I play offensive guard and defensive end. My team also went undefeated this year and last year.

please chance me !!!

I really want to get into these schools!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s less than one month away!

Yeah,it’s over now :frowning:
And your SSAT score is quite low for all of these :(

your best chance is probably St. Andrew’s… I was accepted there last year and my grades were about the same.

SSAT is a little low for all three. I agree you probably have a better chance at St Andrew’s but from what I understand they have had a really high number of applications the last few years. All three have average SSAT in mid 80’s. If it came across during your interview that you have a very sincere interest in that specific school I think you have an outside chance… but if your references were less than stellar I think it’s gonna be tough. Are those the only three schools you applied to? You might want to consider Berkshire if you don’t get in this year. Berkshire is an impressive school that is on the rise and that is slightly less rigorous than the three you mentioned at least with respect to the SSAT.

thanks for all the commentaries on my chances

can you guy list any more schools that is in my level if i don’t get in and apply again next year

Berkshire, Kent and also do a careful study of your other options on boarding school review. You can sort by average ssat’s score for each school then study websites to narrow down to ones that interest you. Have also heard good things about Holderness.

any more chances???

You need to find a school that’s looking for a swimmer. Ask your coach to call his/her counterparts at the schools you wish to attend. See if you can get the coach at a choice school to pull for you with admissions. If they really want you, SSAT scores won’t matter.

yea i did that and the St. Andrew’s and Lawrenceville coach said that he would put a good word for me in admissions
