Right now its the end of my junior year and I calculated my GPA and its a 2.7 because of stupid spanish. I also got a 1860 on the SAT. I want to go to either Montclair or NJIT and I am in state. I run track and next year I will be a co-captain for the team, I help out my church with food drives etc. My english teacher is great at helping for essays and he’s helping me polish up mine. What do you think my chances are in getting into these schools?
You are way in top 25% for SAT but in the bottom 25% for grades. I bet you get in though.
If you take out freshman year, how is your GPA impacted?
Also apply to Rowan. That campus has received enormous money especially on the science side.
Your GPA is a bit low but I think your SAT score should offset it for those schools. Being instate will definitely work to your advantage.
Cant speak for NJIT but for MSU you are probably okay. I agree looking at Rowan, and I would add looking at Ramapo.
I think NJIT and MSU are possibilities. Ramapo is a bit tougher if I am correct, and that 2.7 GPA may be a bit too low.
I’d also look at Stockton. I agree with Rowan as well. You could get into both of the others, though, probably.
