Academically you look ok. Here are some ideas to make your application stronger:

Visit Campus, early and often. A&M wants people who want them.

At least one, if not both, of your letters of reccomendation need to be from people who have known you all of your life. They want to get a sense of your charactar and your academics. Your transcripts and test scores should tell the academic story.

Make sure you complete the 3rd optional essay. Very important

Do as much Volunteer work as possible. They love kids with leadership and community involvement. If you are involved in your religious organization, write everything down that you can.

This is not a comprehensive list. My son was admitted in February for fall 2011. He has decent academics but a ton of leadership stuff, Eagle scout, church, mission trips, marching band, part time jobs, Church youth band etc.

Thanks, I will be sure to put an emphasis on my Red Cross community work and President status in a war veterans club.

Not sure if a visit is feasible.
