Chance Please — UCs, U of I, etc [Engineering]

<p>Hi,</p>

<p>Was hoping someone could chance me for engineering at UCs and U of I, and then regular undecided for the rest.</p>

California Resident
9th grade GPA: 2.83 or something awful around that.
10th grade GPA: 3.61 unweighted 3.94 weighted
11th grade GPA: 3.72 unweighted 3.86 weighted</p>

<p>This year I'm taking the most challenging math courses offered (Calculus and Calculus Based Physics), as well as honors Calculus Based Physics, Honors Literature, and Honors Spanish 4.</p>

<p>SAT:
Math: 520
CR: 560
Writing: 680
Total: 1760</p>

<p>Extracurricular Activities:
Math Club
Rock Climbing Club
Theater Tech Department since 6th grade (rigging the shows, operating the boards, general stagecraft)
Designed and programmed an Ajax/PHP based script to allow students to check in/check out of the school and computers. Also designed school attendance system.</p>

<p>In addition, I have a lot of employment experience.</p>

<p>Congrats on your upward grade trend. Also you have a great writing score but unfortunately your math score is pretty low for engineering schools. U of I is going to be a reach because of your sat and berkeley and ucla are bigger reaches for you. The other ucs are low reaches to high matches. USC is a big reach also. Don’t really know pitcher but the lmu and usd should be matches for you. Goodluck Can u please chances back</p>

<p>your freshman year gpa is not up to the standards of berkeley and ucla, so those are still quite a reach even with your improving gpa. and your sat is on the lower end for someone apply for engineering, i would suggest applying for something else and then transferring into the engineering major once you are there, to lessen the blow of a lower math score. the rest of the schools seem to be a reasonable match.</p>
