Chance please?

I’ve already applied early decision to COM for journalism and I’m getting pretty nervous about acceptance.
Overall I’m mostly, and rightfully so, worried about my SAT score because I couldn’t seem to do well on it after taking it multiple times.

Current average (out of 100; we also don’t weight): ~93 (my freshman average was quite lower but still in the 90’s, but I made a 94 flat in my junior year and have been greatly improving both in grades and academic rigor as time goes on)

SAT: 1760

610 reading
610 writing
540 math

Current senior classes/1st quarter grades:

AP Computer Science: 97
AP Literature: 98
AP Micro Economics: 97
Honors Physics: 92
Pre-Calculus: 93

I’m taking AP Government instead of Econ next semester; my school only runs them for two quarters each.

Overall average ~ 95.5

Previous AP/Honors/Uni Courses:

AP English Language
Honors Chemistry
Honors Biology
Honors US History
Honors European History
Honors French 4
University level French 5

Extracurricular: I copy edit on the school’s newspaper, have been in computer science club, and get many community service hours through national honors society.

I would greatly appreciate any input… my anxiety levels are pretty high right now!

It’s hard to say, but if you had great extracurriculars, essay and recommendations you might get in. That score is way below their average of 2005. But if you checked the box on the application to be considered for CGS you would have a much better chance.

Well, according to my AP Lit teacher, my essay is “well executed,” “perfect” and “one of the most unique essays [he has] read in the past few years,” so maybe there is some hope there. I can only hope that that my competence has been proven through my grades and writing, rather than my SAT.

Thanks for the input!
