Chance please!

Okay... I'm a senior in high school which does not rank students. I'm pretty sure I'm in the top 20% of my class though.

I'm white, but both my parents are immigrants from Ireland (if that helps), but my mom went to college. I live in New York.

My Stats:
94.789 GPA weighted = 3.95 ?
unknown unweighted

SAT: 1260 or 1890
SATIIs: Math 2: 700 US History:530............

But I just took it again and am hoping I got at least 700 in the math section.

APs Taken:
World History -4
US History - 3
Chemistry - 2...

APs Currently Taking:
Stats
Calculus AB
Psychology

I am also taking English Honors, taking Spanish V and economics. I'll also be doing senior seminar next seminar where I'll intern somewhere; I hope to intern at a bank or someplace I can learn about business.

I've been playing soccer for my HS 4 years, am in the national honor society, I'm the secretary of the Science Honor Society, treasurer of the soccer club and I'm a delegate for the Student Organization. I'm also a member of the Spanish Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society). I am the sales manager of the Event Staff of our school plays and am responsible for calculating profits, expenses and such.

I've been working as a lifeguard since last November and was recently promoted to Pool Manager.

I've been an altar boy since 1998. I now am the leader of the altar servers and serve as their mentor; I teach all new servers how to serve. I also am an assistant teacher for religious education for 1.5 hours a week.

I want to go to a good school for business... My top choices as of now include...

Binghamton
Villanova
Colgate University
University of Maryland, College Park
Bentley College
Boston University
Boston College
NYU
Syracuse

I also am considering..
The College of New Jersey
American University
University of Scranton
Fordham University

Please tell me what you think my chances are like and be honest. Also, does anyone have other recommendations for good schools I might be able to get into?

Thanks a lot.

please? anyone? it won't take long...

bump.... come on... =(

well i only know about binghamton...and iI'd say your in

thanks.. anyone else?

I know a few people who applied to Villanova and BC, and they're really tough, but the rest are probably shoe-ins.

even colgate and nyu?

Colgate accepted 28% w/ av SAT from 1260-1430
NYU accepted 36% w/ av SAT from 1810-2110

Remember that these scores are the 50% marks. Personally, I would consider Vill., BC, NYU, and Colgate long shots, just for safety. I don't know Bingham., but you may want some backup "safe" schools just in case.

best wishes

oh god... i'm praying i did better on the november SAT... fgdkgsklfbfdk;gfl;dbgfdbkgbfdkgbkfdgbkfdbf... im screwed.

bump...........

You should consider College of the Holy Cross, top-rated Catholic Liberal Arts college. Like BC, Fordham, and U of Scranton from your list it is a Jesuit institution. Holy Cross does not have a business major, but I'll submit that the study of the liberal arts is the best preparation for business. I'm an HC grad, economics major, and have been in corporate America for 30 some years now. HC has produced a great number of top corporate leaders. I'd recommend that you visit four or five campuses and see which ones you feel are good fits for you. You will succeed at the school where you fit in and feel comfortable. Certainly the Irish-American heritage will give you a great deal in common with much of the HC Crusader student body as it would at the other Catholic schools as well. I'm surprised that you don't have Fordham on your list, another fine Jesuit institution right there in NYC.

fordham is on my list...

Pleaseeeeeeeee! I Am Begging!

Here is my opinion:
Binghamton = Shoo-in
Villanova - a bit of a reach
Colgate University - probably not
University of Maryland, College Park - a bit of a reach
Bentley College - Shoo-in
Boston University - a bit of a reach
Boston College - not likely
NYU - not likely
Syracuse - good match

The College of New Jersey - a bit of a reach
American University - good match
University of Scranton - shoo in
Fordham University - a bit of a reach

Holy Cross - is similar to Colgate. Not likely

i suck....

bumpppppppp
