The mychances website says I am 97% guaranteed admission to UW, but lets see what you think. Thanks!

GPA: Low 3.5

-10th: 3.45 and 3.67
-11th: 3.4 and 3.35 :/ Kinda quit school...

My GPA is essentially a downward spiral although the class rigors raises, but still...

Plan on retaking and studying this time lol

Main ECs:
-National Honor Society
-3 years football and track
-60 hours community service (need ALOT more this summer)

Additional:
-In state
-Male Pacific Islander
-Top 15% nationally in National Financial Capability Challenge (never heard of it when I took, so not expecting you to)
-Applying as Pacific Islander, which at UW is 0.6% of the student population (smallest minority population, even less than Native Americans)
I know UW does affirmative action, so does this help me?

i got in as a transfer w/ a very similar SAT score
but i had a higher college and high school gpa

i think you have a good chance of getting in if you put genuine effort into your essay, no obvious grammatical errors, answer all the questions well, have people proofread and add to your essay, and definitely let yourself stand out by highlighting the importance of your culture in your life

but i can’t give you a 97% chance of getting in, that is ridiculously high, i really doubt anyone has those chances!

Your extracurriculars are okay, nothing spectacular. Your GPA and scores are a bit low but if you work hard to improve your test scores, I think you have a shot at getting in. Just make sure to write a fantastic essay. I can’t give you a 97% chance, but I can say that you do have a good chance of getting in.

My friends from last year got in with similiar scores to me, but like you, they said it is all about the essay. Nothing like pulling the race card lol.

Anyone else like to chance me? :)

lol, no shame in pulling the race card! i think they definitely want u to be a well rounded person, and showing how your culture is important in your life is certainly something they look for
i mean i’m russian, and even i pulled the race card in my essay, it works! :)

Just curious, what college did you transfer from?

shoreline community college

I know the Shoreline CC Dolphins lol. Thanks for you feedback though.

Anyone else wanna give me some input:)

I think 97% chance is a little extreme but you do have a good chance of getting in. Just don’t flop your essay and make sure to get a lot of revision for it.

Thanks.

Do you write the essay in a specific format or however you want. I’ve seen that there are a couple prompts you write about and I am pretty sure you don’t laundry list them…I think lol

Basics are:

12 pt font Times New Roman and putting the prompt at the top of the word document you are sending in. Double spacing doesn’t seem to be necessary. Also separate the prompts by creating new Word documents (don’t just put all the essays in one large document file because you are asked to upload them separately according to the prompt).
