Well SUNY’s only look at the math+cr parts of the SAT, so that will benefit you. I’d say you have a pretty good shot at all those schools. You will be on the low end of the mid 50%, so I’d consider them to be matches, maybe slight reaches. You should apply to some of the SUNY University Colleges like Brockport, Oneonta, Oswego, Plattsburgh, ect. as safeties.

actually come to think of it i think buffalo, albany and stony brook are pretty good matches for me do you think i can call new paltz a safety school?? and do you think i have a decent chance at stony brook and buffalo

New Paltz is one of the most selective University Colleges, after Geneseo. It is right about with UB, UA, and SB in terms of admissions. So it’s probably not a safety. I’d say Brockport, Buff State, Cortland, Fredonia, Old Westbury, Oneonta, Oswego, Plattsburgh, Potsdam, and Purchase would be safeties. All of those are the lesser selective University Colleges. You should apply to Buffalo, Albany, Stony Brook, New Paltz (you may not get accepted to all of those, but you should get into at least 2), and one from the above list as a safety.

Well these schools are all different depending on major. Buffalo and albany will have good business schools, comparable to one another. Stonybrook is the best for anythign science related or math related. Stony brook also just built a really nice communications facility. If you arent going math, science, engineering or premed, then buffalo has the best reputation. Stonybrook will be the hardest to get into. Buffalo the second hardest. ANd alabny will be pretty safe. These schools are all comparable, but do not attend stonybrook if you want to major in business. They also have one of the leats happy student populations in the counrty according to princeton review rankings and the people i know who attend. I would consider new paltz to be slightly better than these schools, its reputation hjas skyrocketed in recent years.
