Chance Thread for a LAST MINUTE APPLICANT

Hi. I applied to UMich on 2/1 (2am).
I have been considering UMich since long long time ago and I had my SAT scores/transcript/recommendations sent long long time before 2/1.
I know I should have finished my apps earlier but I had a lot of things to do and I guess I was lazy too. As much as I regret procrastinating, I absolutely want to be considered...I really do want to go to UMich (one of my top choices). I know that my chances are slim knowing that my apps were sent very late. Please chance me.

Heres my stat (I'll try to make it brief)

(Permanent Resident Status lived in the states for 2yrs when I was young and then came back to the states as a freshman in hs)

I hold an international patent (business method) and I sent a copy of it to UMich.

Preferred Admit: Ross (I know I'm way past the deadline but I checked the box and wrote an essay anyway; if they like me and consider me that's good, if not, o well... its my fault)

I'd greatly appreciate any comment.
Thanks in advance.

When is the deadline for Freshmen applicants? I know transfers are 3/1... not sure about Freshmen

and are you instate or OOS?

It's 2/1 for freshman

I'd say Match (in-state), and Match (OOS). Even though you applied really late :D

Your stats are great, but it comes down to whether or not they even have space left.

yeah u should get in...i know international applicants who applied AFTER the deadline last year with really bad stats and still got in

im out of state... (that puts me in a very bad situation i guess)
urggg

wat is my practical chance (assuming that theres a lil bit of space left)

" wat is my practical chance (assuming that theres a lil bit of space left)"

I'm going to be very honest, not because I'm mean, but because it's only fair to not allow you to get your hopes up.

I spoke with a U of M rep back in September at my school, and she told us about a person who applied with a 2400 and an unweighted 4.0 who was turned down because he applied on February 1. She cited a "realistic deadline" of "Halloween".

Had you applied in September or October, I'd say you had a very strong chance of getting in. But your lateness, combined with out of state residency, compels me to warn you that your chances for admission are significantly reduced. It's not going to be impossible, so you shouldn't give up hope, but you also should not expect to be admitted.

A spot on the waitlist might be something more realistic to hope for.
