<p>my name is luke and I currently live in N.C. I lived at the academy for five years where we sponsored two cadets (twins). </p>

<p>GPA: 3.85 (refigured by usafa)
Class Rank: 22/257
SAT: 550v, 650m
medical:qualified
my CFA was around the averages on most
3 varsity sports: 2 yrs soccer,2 yrs golf and 4yrs tennis:tennis team state champions in 2007
captain of the tennis team this year
treasurer of beta club & fellowship of Christian Athletes
also involved in spanish clubs, and jets (science related club)
-I teach sunday school at my church
nomination: The Honorable Virginia Foxx </p>

<p>It's another extracurricular leadership, so it is good. USAFA does not frown on religious leadership at all.</p>

<p>AFAfighter- you need to raise your SATs there bud. Especially improve that verbal into the 600s, math would help offset verbal too if you could get it up to a 700.</p>

<p>As part of the federal government, the Academy should be religiously neutral and view Church involvement like any other activity.</p>

<p>You've put together a solid application except for that SAT verbal. Other than that, I'd say you look good.</p>

<p>As an organization that highly values moral principles its not going to complain if you have a religious foundation.</p>

<p>That is true, but the more important thing is the leadership. Which you did by "teaching" the services, so either way that is good thing to mention. ;)</p>

<p>no, unfortunately I was unable to take it due to sports, school, and ec's. is it possible that my gpa, rank and difficult class schedule can compensate for the 550v cause i know my math score is right around the average?</p>

<p>Keep in mind that the other couple thousand candidates look very similar to you. If your verbal SAT is lower, that sets you apart in a bad way. Don't give up hope at all, but this means you need to kick butt elsewhere to make up for it.</p>
