Chance to Be Able to Afford Carnegie Mellon?

What are my chances of getting into Carnegie Mellon with some sort of Merit scholarship (I doubt I will get financial aid)? I'm hoping for enough to get under 30,000 a year, but I realize that is a reach.

GPA-
Around 3.83 unweighted (expected to rise)
Around 4.3 Weighted

SAT( I am not taking them again) -
800 Reading
690 Math
700 Writing

-NHS Vice President 2014, Member at Large 2013
-member of international thesbian society and participate in school drama
-Had a year internship at a internationally recognized institute doing clinical research
-Swim competitively (not fast enough for scholarship)
-Teach swimming to little kids and mentally challenged kids and lifeguard ESL camps
-Was team captain and raised over 1,000 dollars for Relay For Life

AP-
5's on Psych, Lang, and gov
4's on world, US

I’m not sure about merit, but CMU is generally relatively not so great at providing a lot of aid, so it should follow that they don’t give a lot of merit scholarships out either - especially since many of the students will have scores likes yours, or possibly even better (for example, when it comes to your SAT Math score).

Most of CMU financial aid seems to be based on financial need with some merit added in if they really, really want you. The merit scholarships that I have seen being given to some students are not enough to bring the cost down substantially. It seems to be in the $10,000
range. And again you have to bring something to the table- URM, 1st generation or some other hook or talent, award. Will you be full pay and just want the merit to entice you to enroll? I think this rarely if ever happens at CMU. They can have their pick of students. I know of one student who was given a scholarship who was NMF, male, Asian and going into one of their lesser known programs but I suspect will transfer to SCS as soon as he can. Good luck with your college app’s.
