Chance to be Admitted

Hi I am a female international student, and majored in chemical engineering. I have applied to transfer to UCB, UCLA, TAG with UCSB, UCSD, and UCD. This semester I was really stressed, and only got a B+ in the second physics class, possible a B in OChem I. My GPA would become 3.88 after update. I am also not able to complete the required C++ class for UCLA, and the pre-req Biology class for UCB. I am going to take Diff. equation, the third physics class, and OCHEM II for next spring, and with partial IGETC done before next summer.

Is there any chance for me to get into UCB or UCLA? What is the best chemical engineering school among UCSB, UCSD and UCD?

I know I may be worrying a bit too much, but I would really appreciate some honest advice. Thank you!

Usually I would say no because the competition is so high but as a female your chances are much higher than a guys so maybe.

You don’t need to be IGETC certified to get into UCB’s or UCLA’s engineering schools. In fact, for UCLA’s engineering program, it says it’s not even recognized here:

You have a good GPA so yes you have a high chance. And it’s not because you are female - I just think you’re a competitive applicant overall.

The biology class isn’t required to transfer to Berkeley, it is just strongly recommended. However, not taking the required programming class for UCLA will probably ruin your chances of getting accepted there. Berkeley and UCLA are highly impacted when it comes to chemical engineering, so completing all the required courses is critical.

I believe UCSB is supposed to be the best chemical engineering school among the three UCs you listed. Most people seem to agree that UCSB has a better chemical engineering program than UCLA.

I applied to some of the same schools as you for chemical engineering. Hopefully we both get accepted to Berkeley, lol.

Full pay student and female will be better chanced at your TAG’s. How did you get 3 TAG’s?
Those are the schools you need to look at.
