chance to get into Cal-HAAS or USC marshall

i'm from DVC...
Current GPA: 3.65
i'm planing apply for fall 09
got a C on micro-Econ and a B on Macro-Econ...
and one B on English writing.
rest of them are A...
i'm looking people who get into those school, their personal statements.
see if some one is willing to send it to me, so that i can seem it as example.
thanks...

Those poor grades in econ will definitely hurt you since they're crucial prereqs. You probably won't get into Haas, but I think you might have a fair shot at Marshall if you write a good essay and have good ECs.

i know a ton of people from DVC haas transfer admits and they all have 4.0s
USC wants As and Bs on their pre reqs as well.
i would say u might have a chance at marshall, but ur essay better be stellar

I would say that your chance is "slim". Hope I am not being offensive......

On USC Marshall's admission site, it clearly states that applicants that received at least a "B" in prerequisites courses will have an advantage in the admission process.
The following is the link for USC Marshall School of Business…….
USC Marshall » Undergraduate Programs » Admissions » Transfer Students

Good luck =)

That "C" in microecon will definitely hurt you a lot!

Marshall is actually more competitive than it actually seems. I would say even a B in prerequisites might hurt your chances to Marshall. My friend had a 4.0 all the GEs completed for USC and Marshall prerequisites completed (obviously all As) With military service and he was rejected from Marshall but was offered admission to the College of Letters and Sciences.

That doesn't make too much sense. There were tons of people in the USC acceptance thread that got anywhere from a 3.5 ~ 3.8 and were accepted with little to no ECs.

Were they accepted to Marshall or just USC l&S? Maybe my friends rejection was just a fluke but my counselor told me that Marshall has become a lot more competitive over the past several years which persuaded me to change my college career.

Yeah Marshall is much more competitive than CLAS at USC. Thus...

Oh and sorry bud, but a C in a pre-req that is very central to your major is going to hurt you a lot. :(

Also, don't just apply to 'SC and UCB. Make sure you begin to look into some safety schools, just in case.

I was indeed talking about Marshall. I do understand it is getting more competitive, but I hardly doubt it'll ever get as tough as Haas. Generally speaking, I'd say you're pretty much good at Marshall with a 3.8 and a strong essay.

thanks for feed back... what if i apply UCSB for Bizz Econ major with Accounting, will i have better chance?
