Hello. I was wondering if it would be any use attempting to get more financial aid from Florida State. It's my 1st or 2nd choice. I received around 10k (without loans), but for OOS it's just not enough. If so, what would be the best way to go about it?

Good luck with that. The financial aid office makes it pretty clear that every dollar of potential aid they have available for next year was already given out. FSU got hit by some pretty significant cuts from both state and federal levels for next year. There just isn’t as much financial aid as there has been in recent years.

Count yourself lucky that you got as much of an offer as you did. If it’s still not enough to attend FSU, you will have to make a tough choice whether you want to attend somewhere you know you can’t afford or to go somewhere else.

About the only thing I can suggest is looking into Private Loans, Parent PLUS loans, and seeing if FSU has any more out of state tuition waivers available to apply for.

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking. I have other choices with more generous offers, but FSU really appealed to me.

I’ll look into those. Thanks for the help!
