Out-of-State Merit Scholarship...?

Hey guys, I was just wondering if it's too late to apply for FSU and be considered for the full tuition waiver that's offered to OOS students. If I apply now, I'd obviously be in the second cycle of students; are these scholarships only considered for those who applied before the October 15th deadline?

Not sure if they give a full tuition waiver scholarship. We have the differential scholarship for OOS students. You average the OOS rate and the IS rate and multiply by the number of credit hours taking to figure out tuition owed. This fall, OOS rate = $721.10/hour and IS rate = $239.62/hour for an average of $480.36/hour. Therefore, we paid $5,764.32 for 12 credit hours which saved $2,888.88. She did apply before the Oct deadline, so I don’t know if they are available for later applicants. I would call financial aid tomorrow and ask. NEVER hurts to ask when it comes to money. Worst they can say is no and then you’d know.

Oh, and my daughter is a junior now, so this scholarship has saved us about $17,000 so far. Every little bit helps!

To my knowledge, there isn’t any requirement that you apply by the October deadline/December decision date for any tuition reduction scholarships.

I’m not 100% sure that they even determine the final roster of who is getting those scholarships until they run financial aid for the upcoming year, which is usually around the end of March/early April.
