My son GPA unweighted 3.75, and Weighted 4.65, UC GPA I think 4.17, ACT 35 he took 12 APS, Does he have a chance to UCLA, by the way the ranking is 6/400, is his unweighted kind of low?
Thanks
Mom

With a 35 ACT, 12 APs and a 4.65 gpa, he has a chance at an Ivy League school like MIT. Just as long as he did good in his APs
Thanks, If AP got 4, is that considered good for private university?
AP scores are not considered in admission decisions. They are used for college credit. A score of 4 is fine but you need to check each schools criteria for what scores will be given AP credit.
Your son has a great chance of passing UCLA, and a good chance of passing ivies. Unless his dream school is UCLA, he should consider applying to some. Yes, the previous poster is correct in saying that AP scores are not considered in admission decisions. UC GPA is used in admission decisions for UCs.
@Zachm926 MIT is not an Ivy League school. GPA plays a big factor in admissions for UCs, and his weighted UC GPA is what they’ll use in admissions.
