-Common App is ok, feels a bit weak, it’s about how I used gaming as a common interest to help immerse myself in my high school community since i was struggling socially.

Why do you want to go to Columbia for MatSci? There are way better places for engineering in general and MatSci in particular. Anyway, yes you’re competitive. And Columbia’s engineering school should be less selective than arts and sciences.

I really liked Columbia when I toured it even before determining my major. I heard it was good even if it wasn’t top level. Also applying to Georgia tech and MIT and the UCs so there are other opportunities for strong engineering programs.

Didn’t want to apply to Stanford because I’m afraid of a crazy earthquake happening with cascadia and I don’t like Michigan so no Michigan university
