Please give me some feedback, and please do not lecture me about posting chance forumes because we are all just a bunch of nervous seniors.

And, Does going to their diversity night thing help at all? do they just take anyone?

Your GPA is very low for a top-tier school and your SATs are not outstanding. Do you ahve something that makes you really stand out otherwise? Something really unique about you?

And re: your question -- going to Diversity Night will definitely show interest. It would certainly help you.

Um, im a national merit commended student. I know my average is low, but its on an upwar slope. Fresh year totally messed me up. i was hoping to write a reall spectacular essay and have a good interview.

Your GPA/SAT scores will put you in range to be competitive. Whether you'll get in will depend on your essays and what the admissions committee is looking for this year.

The SATs are not THAT low, they're in the ballpark for people that get in here. Not everyone at Tufts has a 1500 (old SAT), which I believe a lot of us have become disillusioned with. If there's an upwards trend in your GPA, I think they will take that into account.

That's just a bad high school to college transition. Most people grow out of it, and others fester in their bad behavior. I suppose it's better than dropping out and starting a drug ring. Even then, it's unfortunate because it's quite a waste of all that money.

OK, I think there's some sort of regression from the OP's main question: his/her chances of getting into Tufts. I think that his/her GPA is pretty low and that it would be a real reach. Does anyone else agree or not?

Whether or not it's a reach doesn't really make a difference whether or not the OP should apply. If she's in the top 10% of her high school, then that GPA is high. If it's not, then it's not. The point is we can't tell just by looking at what she typed up. I think that anyone should because there's only so much that you can grasp just at looking at numbers from a website. Don't forget the Tufts comprehensive review of all things as numbers are just a fragment of the overall candidate.
