Chance?

I'm OOS

Stats:

Florida Private School

GPA 3.6/unweighted- 3.8 Weighted

SAT 560 Reading 500 Math 500 Writing

4.0 College GPA....(DE)

EC's:

Florida State Volunteer of the Year-2006

Boys State

2 Time National Medalist (skating)

5 Letters of Rec

My dad also went to LSU...any shot?

I think it sounds very likely! It's just my opinion, though. Good luck!!

Your GPA should be strong enough. The SAT is borderline, but the rest is well above what you need, so I like your chances. I doubt anyone will bother to read 5 letters of rec at LSU, so pick your 1 or 2 best ones.

They said I didn't need to send any in, but I want to get in so......

you'll get in without a doubt

Yeah, I think you're in. Is it too late for you to pull off a good ACT score and try for some scholarship money?

I could....The office said they thought with my EC's I might get one......LA are you a student at LSU?

LAGator is a PHD student at LSU. I'm a Freshman undergrad...

As it stands now, you will receive the Bengal Legacy, which is 75% off non-resident fee because your father went there. You will also probably receive a leadership scholarship, but that isn't worth much, just a $1000.

That should make LSU fairly reasonable, a bit more than if you stayed in-state, but not much.

Okay,

I checked my status and they have everything but my letters of REC.......How long do you think it'll take for them to make a decision?

Thanks for the advice, anything I should know about LSU only students know?

They got back to me within 3 weeks. Im sure you will get in i had a worse gpa than you. Good Luck!

oh if your dad went to lsu you get 75% of you oos waived!

i think you have a good chance. it helps that you had a parent graduate from lsu.

Okay, So I called today and they have everything they need and they have started whatever it is they do...how long before I find out?

well, i got my acceptance letter within a wk, but that' b/c i applied really early like in july. some of my friends didn't apply until november ,and they had to wait about 2 1/2 wks.

So, they want my mid-year grades. What does that mean? Here are my grades:

Poly Sci DE- A
English IV Honors -A
Global Studies- A
Religion-A
American Government- A

Really? Strange. I guess it means they are still undecided and want to see if you're slacking your senior year, which you obviously are not. That must mean you're in considering you're doing well.

I think if you were in-state, you would be a lock, but they are a bit more selective out of state.

ask your counselor to send a mid-year report. s/he should know what to do.

basically, they want to make sure you haven't decided to take 3 electives and english OR have senioritis in august

actually a 7-semester transcript is probably plenty

Well since I only needed English to graduate I took extra classes. My school said they will send out the report on Friday. Wish me luck!

Go Tigers!

Good luck.

And it's Geaux Tigers
