My Mom was an English teacher and she gave me some tips. Yeah, that's a good idea about moving the sentence. Oh yes, I will definitely attend, Tiger for life!

I think I'm going to over night the letters of rec and the statement tomorrow.

So I kind of feel like I'm spamming my own thread, lol.

Yet, I checked my application status today and it says:

"A provisional decision has been reached. Applicants are notified of provisional decision by mailed correspondence only. Additional documents are required in order to proceed with the final decision process and correspondence will be (or has been) sent to you listing each document required."

I got my acceptance letter very quickly after applying, and it came as a surprise, so I wasn't checking the status page and I don't know the time frame from when they post that and you receive your letter. A week or two after receiving the letter I happened to check the status and it said that a provisional decision had been made. The additional documents, I think I recall, would be your final transcript. I didn't apply for financial aid, so I don't know if that would be something they would be looking for, too. I am sorry, but I don't know if that's what it means for sure, but if I would take a guess, I would think so.

I hope you are celebrating shortly and buying everything purple and gold!

Hey zman, I just wanted to say that your statement regarding your "lack of chemistry" was great! I feel that due to the phone call and personal note by the dean to the committee, you have a great chance. Even without those recommendations by the dean, your statement truly showed your enthusiasm and desire of going there. I feel you have a VERY strong chance of getting in. Good Luck!

Thank you very much for your supportive response christianh.

Nola, you have become my new best friend!!!!!!

So, I checked my e-mail this morning to find this:

Greetings from the Office of Orientation at Louisiana State University! We have placed your ORIENTATION REGISTRATION POSTCARD IN THE MAIL. You should be receiving your postcard in the mail within the next few days. Once you receive your Orientation Registration Postcard, you will need to visit Orientation to review the Freshman Orientation, Advising and Preregistration (Sessions 1-8) information and begin the registration process. You will need your LSU PAWS Account logon ID and password which was provided to you at the time you applied to LSU. Your PAWS ID is provided at the end of this email. You will also need a credit card or bank account routing number and account number to process your fee payment.

I think I just became the newest student for LSU's class of 2013!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ALL RIGHT!!! You need to celebrate and enjoy this moment! You're in! You're done! Congratulations! I went by the campus last month and it was in great shape--I'm confident that LSU has it all. Everyone I talk to that went there says it is the best decision they made. Again, congratulations! I'm so glad the process didn't drag on any further.

I visited LSU in 2006 when all of the construction was taking place. It was an amazing place even then and I’m sure it is even more so now. I think I will be attending the first orientation (June 12). I am still waiting on the “official decision letter”…but I think I’m in. Since I am out of state, I will be applying for aid in hopes of some financial breaks. So I’ll see how that process goes. Any advice on which airport to fly into? I think Baton Rouge Metro is my best bet…I think

Congratulations! I'm in the same boat you are in (I'm from Virginia), so if you get any information or advice on financial aide, let me know! and once again good job!

Once I get my official letter in the mail, I am going to call the office for financial aid and see what I need to do in order to get some aid.

P.S. All of us CC members that are going or that are already at LSU, we should have a pizza night or something. I know I would love to have a "mentor" to show me the ins and outs of LSU!

Let's hope they're not arranging orientation for rejected students (would probably be poorly attended). Let us know when that acceptance letter arrives.
