How many ppl are applying to the Chancellor's Scholarship?

I believe that the applicant pool for scholarships is determined by the university. Finalists are invited for a campus visit (early March?) and notified shortly after of their award. One of D's high school peers (one year younger) received the Chancellor's last year and she was an exceptional student. Even if you are not selected as a potential scholarship recipient, Vanderbilt is very generous with financial aid for those with need.

Was she rigorously involved with diversity-promoting activities? I am wondering what they would consider as important contributions to diversity. Is being the president of Culture Club at my school enough? I plan several major events during the schools years such as the culture fair, global holiday decorations, and international buffet for teachers. I don't know if they want more community service as opposed school activities...

A girl at my school said that the admissions office sent her a copy of the application and encouraged her to apply...is this standard practice? Did everyone get this?

i got my application from Vandy thro the mail. i heard a lot of ppl got them this way.
