<p>Secondly, in response to those who say race has nothing to do with the admissions, there are statistics. Because African Americans and Latinos are only 11% of graduates from top high schools, they are more likely to be admitted because of the lack of these students at top colleges.</p>

<p>I’d say: go for it! Maybe you won’t get accepted by Harvard or Stanford (those Cs really mess things up, don’t they?), but colleges like Dartmouth and Ann Arbor will definitely look twice at your application.</p>

<p>My sister was a woman in engineering with a 2400 and was waitlisted to Harvard and Columbia. She did however get into UPenn, Carnegie Mellon, and all of the good UCS</p>

<p>Do you know your weighted GPA? That’ll help. These schools (as you know) are extremely competitive, but you have a solid shot. Your ECs are a little on the weak side, nothing extraordinary. You’ll get scholarship money at the UCs and UofM. I’d say you’ll probably get in to one of the super competitive schools, although which one is a crapshoot. Great shot at Dartmouth. Congrats!</p>
