chances? and a Q about transcripts...

Applied to the Faculty of Arts, with Education as my second choice

Schedule is pretty rigorous, although I didn't take honors math until this year (Calculus).
GPA: 3.3 UW 3.8 W
Should go up after this semester

SAT: 750 CR 650 M (got a 660 in May -- does McGill superscore?) 670 W
Subject tests: 710 Literature, 620 US History and 630 Math II. Should I send these in or not?
ACT: 31

So my school is very hands off about college and they require us to send our own transcripts. I know McGill wants the school to send it directly, but I got an envelope with the school's seal on it and mailed it in that. That should be okay, right? I'm just a little paranoid about it because I really don't want to have to try and get another school envelope! Haha

Your transcript is probably okay if it is in a school envelope sealed with the school seal, but your school really should change its policy. I understand hands-off and I can understand charging a fee for each transcript, but it is completely inappropriate for an educational institution to refuse to send a transcript directly: it is an abdication of educational responsibility and an invitation to fraud. What planet is your school on? The universities in my locality do not accept transcripts even directly from high schools: the transcript must come directly from the Ministry of Education in order to be official.

@violindad: I never heard of that practice before at any American high school. I know that McGill keeps images of transcripts received from high schools in prior years and will compare them to recent submissions from the same school to determine their validity and will contact the high school if there is a suspicion of fraud.

sproosepti, 100% in. Directly into the accepted pile.
