chances as a transfer

i actually go to UD right now, but my bf wants to transfer here from a CC in the fall. he has a cum 3.2 right now (with a big upward trend). he doesn't really have any ECs, but he works about 40 hours a week with a full load of credits, so he can explain that in his essay. can anyone tell me his chances? i know it's easier to get accepted as a transfer at UD (gpa wise that is) so i don't see why he wouldn't get in, but i just want to make sure.thanks!

Arez, it's hard to provide chances for transfer students. I'm sure a 3.2 will be OK under some circumstances, but not other circumstances. (For example, chances for a mid-Freshman year transfer into Chem Eng program would be very small, but Sophomore year transfer into General Studies probably wouldn't be a problem.)

Good response. While I don't know of UDel, many places view transfers for leftover or remaining spots, which may fluctuate, depending upon frosh #s. It may be much more cost effective to enroll a good bet freshman than an even better bet soph or jr. Or it may depend upon the degree of attrition in the class to which one seeks to transfer. In any case, the U. gets 4 or 5 yrs worth of tuition vs. less. Think of it this way ... UDel (possibly?) would have to process, enroll 2 transferring jrs. to 1 frosh. So the answer may be "it depends."
