Chances at a bunch of good schools

Alright, so my unweighted gpa will end up being like 3.7 or so due to a screwed up freshman year
weighted gpa is like 4.35 and I am rightnear the top 10% mark of my class. My counselor sent a note with my transcript explaining that none of my honors or ap level courses could transfer from my old school.

Sorry this is poorly formatted. I may have forgotten some stuff. Please chance me for:

Unc chapple hill
duke
virginia tech
MIT
harvard
appalatchian state
and if possible the Robinson scholarship to duke or chapple hill.

By the way, I live in NC.

I think there are some schools - Princeton for one - that do not even look at Freshman year grades. May be something of interest for you?

Otherwise, I think the NC Resident should bode well with Duke.

Yeah, I know Princeton doesn’t, as I visited there unfortunately my parents did not like it and would not help me pay for it. Thank you very much though.

Ok, in doing the math I calculated that my uw gpa will be closer to 3.6 or 3.65. Will this hurt me significantly more?

its spelled: Chapel Hill. make sure when you apply you spell it right.

other than that i think you are a very competitive applicant for all the schools

Are you below top 10%?

What did your parents dislike about Princeton?

Well-rounded applicant but a lack of any extraordinary metrics and achievements means that Harvard and MIT are out of reach, Duke is a mid-to-high reach and you’re in at the rest.

And it’s important that you make sure exactly what your rank is; what does “rightnear the top 10% mark” mean?

That means that right now I’m at about the 11 or 12% mark, but after this semesters grades will be either just within the top 10% mark or just out of it. My exact rank will be provided. My parents weren’t overly impressed with the atmosphere, and didn’t like that I would graduate with a ba instead of a bs.

Bump 10char

UNC-CH good match
Duke - reach
MIT - high reach
Harvard - high reach
App and VT - in easily

UNC is definitely in your range, but I think with everything Duke looks like a possible match too although with higher level schools like Duke, MIT, ect. it’s almost impossible to guess. Robertson is really difficult too but with UNC you look like a potential candidate.
