Chances for princeton and other good schools? :/

<p>Ok so, my overall weighted gpa is 3.82 (I realize this is low), but all of my grades that pulled that downwards were focused in freshman year, which I believe is not even counted for Princeton and not heavily emphasized in a lot of colleges. Also, this will rise quite a bit by the end of the semester due to my doing extremely well in 5 AP courses.</p>

<p>Without freshman year (for Princeton purposes), my weighted gpa is somewhere around a 4.097. My school does not heavily weight so this is quite high. Once again, this will rise by the end of the semester to about 4.224 or maybe a bit higher.</p>

<p>I have taken all the hardest courses offered at my high school except a non-accelerated English class my sophomore year.</p>

Highest in one sitting: 1490 (710 verbal, 780 math)
Highest composite: 1550 (770 verbal, 780 math)</p>

<p>ACT
Composite: 33 (34 Eng, 31 Math, 36 Reading, 30 Science and Reasoning)</p>

<p>SAT II</p>

<p>Math 2C: This is still up in the air but I expect 750+
Writing: Also, still up in the air but I expect 700+
US History: 690</p>

<p>I am currently doing research into the fractals created by the boundary in which Newton's method works for a multivariable system.
I also spend a great deal of time writing short stories and poetry, which I am going to submit to local and national competitions (unluckily, none of these results will be back before I have to submit my apps).
I play the drums for about an hour every day.
I am the VP of my French Club.
I volunteer to tutor students at my school through a service offered called the Writing Center.
I volunteered for a summer and a half at my local hospital as an aide. I racked up about 100 community service hours like this. I also got some work experience through working for this hospital at another time.
I'm in the Chemistry and Physics Club.</p>

<p>I'm originally from the United Kingdom, and I am not a citizen of the US. I don't know if that will help me from a diversity standpoint.
My essay is pretty decent I think (You can read it and tell me what you think in the College Admissions section!)
Teacher recs are gonna be great.<br>
I took two APs last year - AP English Lang - 5 and AP US History - 4 (History is not really my thing)</p>

<p>your sat score is awsome but your GPA a little low. Good luck though in all of those schools. You have a good shot at Emory and Wash U and Lafayette (all places im applying to as well)</p>

<p>I think that you have a good chance at Lafayette, Emory, Washington University, and UNC-Chapel Hill. Your 50-50's may be Duke, Williams, and possibly Columbia. Your reaches are Princeton and Harvard, given that no really knows who will get admitted into those two schools.</p>

<p>Another thing I should maybe mention is that I go to a really rigorous private school; my relative GPA in comparison to many others is pretty high. </p>

<p>Your GPA is sort of low but you have great test scores and your ECs are incredible. The good far outweighs the okay.
Good luck, but I doubt you'll need it.</p>
