these are my schools of interest: (can u tell me if each one is match, safety, reach...etc)

UNC
UVA
Penn State
Cornell
UCLA
Miami
U cal- sandiego

Your writing school needs help. And if you're from suburban Maryland, your region is going to be super competitive.

Penn State and Miami are probably good safeties.

San Diego is a good match. And UVA could be more of a match than a reach, but it's so hard to get into out of state. UNC may be a bit easier.

Cornell and UCLA though. Toss ups. Reaches. Especially if Cornell is for engineering.

But write a great app, and you've got a decent shot.

Your GPA is super low by the UC standard, you can only use 8 semesters of honors/ap/ib classes. A 3.3 unweighted, maybe 3.6 by UC standard is not going to even get you into UCSD. Average GPA at UCSD is around a 3.8/3.9 with a 1950 SAT.

You have good SAT 2s tho, probably into SD, not LA, Berkeley tho.

You can get into UCSD. The SATs make up for the GPA (which isn't actually low...crazy people). But I agree, UCLA and Berkeley are reeeeeaches.
