I'm applying for 9th grade at Andover, Deerfield, Exeter, Choate, and Middlesex.
Academics:
I got good teacher recommendations from my teachers. I have all A's and B's but I go to a good private school in NYC, so we have really challenging work (if you ask me why I want to go to boarding school, it's mostly because of the boarding and independence part, and the athletics. The education will be pretty much the same either way). I got a 2289 on the SSAT's. I think I had good interviews.
Extracurriculars:
Lacrosse: travel and school
Soccer: travel and school
Basketball: school
School Newspaper Layout Editor
School Chorus Co-Head
Flute since grade 6
Orchestra
Acting in a theater troupe for 3 years
Piano since age 4
Middle School Service Committee for two years, Co-Head
I speak Spanish, Latin, and English.

What do you think are my chances?

If boarding & athletics are such a priority, then it behooves you to ALSO consider some other great, but not so excruciatingly difficult schools to get into admitted into.

I’d also like to go to a school with great academics, and these are apparently the ones that compare the best to the school I go to now.

Wow, I had no idea the other BSs were so academically middling… Thanks for the tip!

What school do you go to now? I am just wondering. I think that you have a great chance of getting into any of the schools you applied to, but remember: THEY LOOK FOR PERSONALITY. If they have 400 boring geniuses, they will not learn because they cannot have meaningful conversations in classes. Make sure your applications show that you are different.

Those schools’ apps are already due.

Your stats are good, so cool down and wait for the packages! You might get in, but you have to know that there are a lot of really strong applicants applying to these schools.
-Good Luck
