Chances at AOM??

<p>i just got rejected by cornell aem, i had hoped my legacy etc would help but apparently i was close. please letme know what my chancesss are. really worried about the gpa hopin the test scores work some magic</p>

<p>My Stats:
3.16 unweighted
HS is consistantly among top 500 in country</p>

<p>SAT: 1410 without writing 2020 with
Math:720
CR:690
Writing:610</p>

<p>SAT IIs:
Molec bio: 720
Math level 1:700
World history: 680</p>

<p>i have taken all sat's and sat iis only once for those scores, i heard it matters in some schools.</p>

<p>dunno about the common app essay i only edited it once the night before it was due for cornell... oops?</p>

<p>APs Taken:
US history
Stats</p>

<p>APs Currently Taking:
Calculus AB
Lit and composition
environmental science</p>

<p>I've been playing soccer for a cornell u club team 4 years, club lacrosse 2 years varsity this year. </p>

<p>400+ hours of community service over the 4 years</p>

<p>not too much employment </p>

<p>What are my chances of getting into the SOM? It's one of my top choices for college now that cornell rejected me. im really worried about the gpa, the admisions lady at cornell (my moms friend) told me if i had been .2 points higher i would have gotten into aem but 3.16 was too loww (8 or 9% acceptance rate expected this year).</p>

<p>someone letme know please im thinking about looking at more safety schools.

<p>also, i did the commonapp for bing really fast and theres only one essay right the little paragraph then the personal esay</p>

<p>also if thers anyone else that applied with the commonapp, was there a place for us to officially pick our major? i dont remember one.except i guess the academic interst place</p>

<p>I think you will be fine. Average SAT for SOM is around 1320. You are far above that.</p>

<p>can you describe your high school a little bit more? public vs private? academically challenging? does binghamton have a track record for it?</p>

<p>if you were aiming for an ivy and though you had a decent shot, I don't see why you are fretting =)

<p>well my high school (ithaca like an hour away) is public and ranked #310something in the country and binghamton definitely has a track record we have around 40 people who apply every year. </p>

<p>haha but yea i aimed for the ivy cornell because my mom teaches there and they still didnt take me.</p>
