<p>Whoever said that about Prop 209 -- that's a load of malarkey for Stanford. It is only at ** public Californian ** institutions that law applies.</p>

<p>4300 isn't the accepted total. They accepted around 10,000. They want a class of 4300, but a good half of their acceptees are not going to choose to go there. (Last year I remember the seniors saying "Whoa, UCLA dropped to eight percent this year!" Nope.) They accepted over fifty people from my school this year.</p>
