how do i stand for admission at schools like brown, cornell, tufts, and johns hopkins? and where else should i be looking?

Hey!
fellow Asian! lol
I think you're doing great. GPA's good (although I wish you would have posted your unweighted GPA, too)

how many APs have you taken?

If you have takeng the most or very challenging courses, then you'll be all set for those college you want to go.

I think you should tie together your ECs because I don't see what you're truly interested in. They're all so diverse!

Ivies are reaches for everyone (kinda)
but I think you have a good shot at tufts and JHU.

Good luck!

(btw, what is your area of interest? IR?)

All of these schools are reaches for just about anyone, but you'll have a better shot, as was said above, with JHU and Tufts University. If your passion is IR, then make sure that stands out for both JHU and Tufts. If that is your focus...however your higher math scores vs. US History could say otherwise.

but do i have a decent shot at say brown?

sorry wowser147, i don't have my unweighted GPA, and the 4.1 isn't even official yet. i'm supposed to get class rank and GPA and stuff in the mail some time this summer.

ok what exactly is IR because i have my guesses right now but i'm not totally sure. i'm looking into like a biology or premed major (i know most schools only have advisory premed programs which is fine) the funny thing is though that i thought i was doing good on my history SATII while i was taking it. but then again i only had a week to study for my 3 SATIIs which i was stupid enough to take at the same time. my AP score should be better.

also i'll have taken 7 APs total

that's very good! of course, your rank will help us determine your likely chance, but i can tell that you're a smart student so i'll assume you're in top 10% of your class.

i think you have a good chance at brown (keep in mind ivies are reaches for many 'normal' students

good luck!

p.s. IR=international relations

thanks wowser
yeah i'm not all that interested in international relations like as a career option or a major.

any suggestions on any other schools i should be looking at, and what possible safeties might be?
