Chances at Cal Poly/UCSD?

Hi, I am a junior from Illinois at one of the most competitive schools in the state. I was just wondering what my chances are at getting in to Cal Poly and UCSD. I am a white male and don't need much financial aid. I am looking to go into Computer engineering for both of the schools. Or if I don't have a chance at these schools, can anyone recommend me some other Cal comp eng programs?

Unweighted GPA: 3.7
Weighted: 4.6

(Possible internship in the near future with some software design labs)

Junior: Honors Physics, Honors Pre-Calc, AP English, AP History, Honors Spanish 4, Honors Biotechnical Engineering, Design 1 (minor)

Senior (Not set in Stone): AP Chem, AP Comp Sci, AP English, AP History, Honors Aerospace Engineering, (Probably no language)

Cal Poly: Match
UCSD: High Match

If you bring your SAT up, then your chances at UCSD will improve.

Certainly apply for more UCs

I personally think Cal Poly is a safety and UCSD is a match. If you do an internship, even UCLA and Berkeley should come within high matches.

Cal Poly: Safety
UCSD: Low Match

Cal Poly and UCSD are basically equal in entrance requirements and you are a match for both. Even with your stats Cal Poly is not a safety. My son had similar stats and he was accepted to both schools. California is race blind for entrance requirements so being a white male will not have an impact on your acceptance. In fact, being OSS will have more impact and that will be a positive influence. The most important thing is what kind of an education do you want? Cal Poly SLO is a teaching college that has a “learn by doing, hands on” teaching methodology. You are the main focus of the professors. UCSD is an excellent school as well. However, the emphasis is more focused on research and preparing you for grad school and scholarly pursuits.

Thanks a lot for the replies guys, I have been gone on a trip as of late and could not respond. This is wonderful news, and I will be working to get the SAT up. I really do like the whole learning by doing curriculum that Cal Poly offers, though.

UCSD : Match from what I know
