what major within CALS?

Bilogical sciences

bios very competitive, but you should be ok

we have to specify which major?

You look like every other person who posts a chances thread here.

bump (10 char)

Spend your energies working on a great and compelling application. There are alot of Long Island kids with similar stats (my d included who is now a senior at Cornell) who you are competing with. Your chances are as good as anyone else-
ED helps but not a sure thing.

On the positive side, I know a number of kids who applied ED and were deferred- but they were accepted in the RD round. So I really think Cornell does take the time to review the deferred ED candidates and gives them a 2nd chance for admission. Good Luck!

I'd say you have a pretty decent shot.
