Chances at Cambridge for a Chinese student?

Hello everyone, my name is Peter and I currently live in China. I will be traveling to England to study next year at an international high school. My goal is to go to Cambridge University in 2014.

Right now, I have studied English for 8 years and I'm very good at math. My main hobby is badminton and I want to know how I can improve my chances at Cambridge through developing this extra curricular skill. Any advice you have in general about improving my chances at Cambridge, particularly with regards to extra-curricular involvement, is greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much.

None, because there’s no reason to.

What course are you planning to apply for?

A)- TSR
B)- No one can chance you if you haven’t started at your new HS
C)- Take IB/AP/A levels+ excel.

They care about test performance only, and couldn’t care less about extracurriculars unless you can somehow tie them to what you plan on studying there. Decide on a “major”/subject and become as proficient as possible at it. You’ve got to show them how much passion you have for the subject, and your test scores need to back you up on that.

Oh and you could try the student room . co . uk (no spaces) instead of collegeconfidential; it should be more helpful. Good luck :)
