I was just wondering what my chances were for CIT or Tepper or any other school in CM w/ the following stats:

SAT1 math: 710; verbal 630
rank: 51/430
ECs: good
recs: very good
APs: Eng Lang: 4; USH: 3
gpa: 3.8
Awards: Science Bowl, TEAMS, etc...
Sat2s: math2c, physics, and writing all in mid 600s
Also, if it helps, I have 3 years experience in computer language, am currently enrolled in Cisco year 2, and manage a school website. I have also been accepted to Georgia Tech EE. Thanks guys.

Ok, well thanks guys. 35% chance is about what I had in mind. Farnsworth, I applied in December and heard back in late January. Also, I forgot to add alot of things:

NM Commended Scholar
ACT: (34 math; 34 english; 26 reading and science)
Jumped almost 100 ranks in two years
currently taking IB Calculus BC, Physics C, etc... basically the hardest courseload my school offers
network administrator for the Computer Club, and have knowledge in assembly language
part time job during school.
50+ hours community service
very good common app essay, cmu essay less strong

Do any of these things increase my chances noticeabaly to where my chances are closer to 50%? Thanks alot.

Maybe Tepper, MCS, HSS, but CCS is tough. It is is as selective as MIT, or more. Did you take any SAT2s in math and sciences? Or APs? Or advanced courses at cc? Those can factor in.

Sorry, but I'm still a bit confused about your IB math course. The only IB math courses that I know of are IB Math Studies SL, IB Math Methods SL, IB Math HL, and IB Further Maths HL. So are you taking the IB Math HL or IB Further Maths HL test?

ya i agree with goirulz... there is no such thing as ib calc bc... u cover alot of calc and even more in Math HL.. hey i ddnt even know of Ib Further math HL...maybe u mean AP

I am in AP Calculus BC class but am testing IB in there, so I have extra IB worksheets and have to take an extra test at the end of the year. It goes toward my IB Certificate. I thought then that it was called IB Calculus BC since I am in calculus but doing IB work as well?
