Do you think I have a shot at getting in? If not, can you give me some advice on what I can do, what programs and achievements I should consider? Thank you so much for your time.

Hey there,
I think you have a pretty good chance (your SATs seem good and extracurriculars)
Doing an internship will definitely be the one thing that will greatly help
But be careful about taking a rigorous course load because you don’t want to take on more than you can and get bad grades.
I’m not an admission officer but I had worse stats than you and got in to ECE from a waitlist  But then again, I haven’t had a single summer where I haven’t done anything. Make sure you spend your summer doing a good internship or research (research is pretty good too if you want to do MCS)
A friend of mine is a Chem major in MCS now and he’s doing lots of research, and a few Bio majors help out with research and ongoing studies at the University.
Keep up the good work and apply for more than one school at CMU! Once you’re in at least one school, switching to what you love most is not hard. The staff is amazingly helpful and nobody will say no to your passion.

Thank You so much!!
