Chances at Columbia/Duke/Mich?? HONEST opinions please.

This is kind of a big deal for me not because I'm a college-obsessed freak (which I'm not...but more so because i feel lost and I have no honest clue about where I even have a good chance). As of right now I'm only applying to UMich which I feel confident I can get into. While I put my top choices in the subject title please give me schools that you also think from experience I can get into...please be honest (no crying here...lol). Believe it or not, you will be helpping me a GREAT deal.

I go to a private school in Northern Michigan.

GPA: 3.7
Scores: 2200 SAT/33 ACT/800 SATII Math IIC / 730 SAT II Chem/ 5 on AP Chem exam

I have really good EC's: Varsity Soccer 3 years with a State Championship/Model UN/Karate Black Belt/Newspaper/Student Government/Band.
I also have internships in medical fields and did some research.

I have a few awards in Model UN and Band. I also do a LOT of volunteer work and out of 2 recs one will be really good and the other just good. The essays all good with 1-2 of them being excellent most likely (I have only looked at U of M's as of now).

Your good test scores and ECs make you a very strong candidate at a huge number of colleges. Before I go on, though, let me point out that a lot of the students you will be competing with admissions for at top schools will have a stronger GPA.

From what little I understand about college admissions, I see you as having a chance at most schools. The "ivies," Stanford, CalTech, MIT, top LACS, and their peers might be large reaches, but you have better chances at several equally good schools. If you'd like to remain somewhat close to home, perhaps look at the University of Chicago, U Wisconsin Madison, and Northwestern. Washington University in St. Louis might be another good school for you to apply to. Keep searching and talk to your counselor. Good luck.
