I’m currently Asian American junior in an average public high school in Massachusetts. I am not hoping to be accepted into top schools like Harvard, Stanford, Princeton, etc. I am passionate about STEMS and hoping to apply to Cornell the following year. Our school also limits the amount of APs/classes one can take. I would have taken APs in my freshman and sophomore year.
Freshman year-
A’s in all Honors except two A-'s in English and French
A in enriched geometry (4.75 weighted)
Sophomore year-
A’s in all Honors except two A-'s in English and French
A in enriched algebra 2 (4.75 weighted)
Junior Year-
A’s in all Honors except two A-'s in AP Lang and French
A in enriched precalc (4.75 weighted)
AP Physics 1 - A
AP Java - A
AP Lang - A-
Senior Year- hoping to take these classes
AP Calc BC
AP Physics C
AP Computer Science Principles
AP Biology
w/ Honors in dramatic lit & French
SAT - I’ve taken it once in August and scored 1550. My essay was awful but Cornell no longer counts it. I’m planning the take the Math II, Physics, and Biology M subject tests. I’m hoping to get 800s on all three.
Out of ~400 students in my grade, ~10 will take Calc BC because an A- in enriched math is required (only ~20 students taking enriched precalc in my class).
Extracurriculars - they aren’t that amazing
-Math Team
-Seaperch competition (underwater robots)
-Biobuilders (basically highschool iGem)
-Habitats for Humanities (volunteering & fundraising)
-Elementary school mentoring program at the local middle school.
If my college admission essays are really good and I finish this year with 800s in Math 2 subject and physics subjects and good AP results, what do you think are my chances at Cornell? I’m planning to ED.
