I would really like some feedback, because I have to decide where I am going to apply early decision

Look at some of the ED results at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=126317

You should be able to get some ideas about what Cornell wants from ED applicants.

they don't really tell me anything, I need some personal feedback based on my credentials.

you really need to tell us which major you plan on applying to. every college has different acceptance rates and strengths that they look for. other than that, your stats look impressive

sorry I want to be a computer science major

dont do ED, go regular. Your SAT and GPA are above the median mark, u have good ECs....why would u go ED?

I wanted to have a better chance. I am not completely decided, I am considering Emory, Dartmouth and Brown alongside cornell. Also, do you think UT Austin is a good safety school?

i'd go ed dartmouth and rd brown, cornell, emory.

i would agree... unless you truly love cornell

Why Dartmouth all of the sudden?

I want to get my SATs above 2200, going to do a lot of prep the second time (taking it in october) and hopefully that will increase my chances

I went ED with better scores. Why wouldn't you if you wanted to go to Cornell? That's really not a good strategy to use when deciding whether to apply ED or not. If you love the school and it's your first choice, then do it. If not, then apply to Brown or Dartmouth ED.

do you think I have a shot? spanks

you look like you have a good shot. I say improve sat's and do a bit more activities in your area and you'll be fine.

You need better sat I scores. Why did you take two math subject tests?
By the way, you should apply to cornell ed, if you really want to go there

whoever said he should apply RD to Cornell is highly mistaken..your sat scores are not good enough to apply regular...u have a much better shot earlier...u are certainly not a shoo in

dont do ED, go regular. Your SAT and GPA are above the median mark, u have good ECs....why would u go ED? ~ i have to disagree with that.

liberty: did u visit the colleges u listed? that can make or break a choice. the scores u have now, ED would be the better choice (as long as u think cornell is the good choice). and ur scores are only slightly above the median mark of 650. for ur other schools listed like dartmouth and brown, those SATs aren't high enough, but i don't know what ur essays or teacher recs are like, so i can't say anything about ur overall chances.

yeah I know that my scores are low, they are from my first sitting of the SAT, I am taking it a second time in October hopefully getting above 2200

hopefully u'll score well in oct ;) ... but even if u don't reach ur score goal ... its never over. SATs were the biggest pain in a** for me cause my scores for seperate tests never went above 2000. and my IIs were even worse (ex. french=540). so, i made sure my applications strong points (recs and essays) would make the admissions people forget my bad scores.
