Anyone know how influential the SAT writing score is for my application?

I will chance back for all who chance me. Thank you for your help.

The ‘accepted wisdom’ on CC is that at least as of last year, Cornell did not consider the writing component. Probably worth your while to call admissions and verify.

Are you applying to CAS or CALS – the good news for you (which you probably know already) is that the business program is in CALS, which has MUCH lower tuition for NYS residents.

Overall – Grades are good; SATs are fine; looks like you’re pretty much taking the most rigorous schedule permitted; ECs look excellent.

I think you’re a strong candidate – beyond that, it’s a numbers game.

If you’re looking to really get into specialized finance courses, then AEM is probably your best bet. Otherwise, you could always lean more toward economics courses in AEM or simply apply to CAS as an Econ major. Getting a job in the financial sector isn’t totally about your academic background.

I will be applying to aem. Thanks for your input guys, much appreciated.

Bump 10char

Bump 10chars

great shot! (compared to most other applicants). If you apply ED, I bet you would have a 50/50 shot+. Your numbers are good and you have lots of volunteer/ec’s.

Thank you for your response! I will probably apply RD as I am not sure that it’s exactly right for me.

In regard to the price difference between the contract & endowed colleges. Total price difference is approx. $15,000 (40K compared to 55). However if your parents are in that $150,000 to 175,000 range you will get no aid from contract schools but around $15,000 from the endowed schools making the cost about equal.
