chances at cornell...white female engineer

<p>[ok first of all.. i havent been contacted for an interview. should i be worried? i live in a big city and im sure there are cornell alum around.</p>

<p>also..i just got into vanderbilt engineering with a $20,000 merit scholarship. so i guess they liked my app.]</p>

<p>hey...do you think ill get in? i heard they start mailing likely letters to female engineers in march...do you think ill get one?</p>

<p>kk so here are my stats:</p>

<p>PSAT-225 (National Merit Finalist)</p>

<p>SAT Math-800</p>

<p>SAT Reading-730 </p>

<p>SAT Writing-770 (10 essay) </p>

<p>Total: 2300</p>

<p>SAT II Biology-740 freshmen year </p>

<p>SAT II Chemistry-670 sophomore year (unusual circumstances combined with not studying)</p>

<p>SAT II American History-740 junior year </p>

<p>SATII MathIIC-800 (senior year)</p>

<p>AP World History-4 (10th grade-AP World History was not offered at my school but I took the exam anyway)</p>

<p>AP American History-5 (11th)</p>

<p>AP Government-5 (11th)</p>

<p>AP English-4 (I did not take AP English but took the exam anyway-11th)</p>

<p>GPA 7.8/8 W..my school is weird. basically a 4.0 UW</p>

<p>No grade below an A on entire transcript </p>

<p>Only 2 other students have made straight As at my school </p>

<p>Top 5% of class (ranked 4th out of 97)</p>

<p>small private college prep school in a major Texan city</p>

<p>Taken the highest level classes offered except in English </p>

<p>i wont go into EC's....they are moderate. nothing amazing..pretty average. officer in like 2 clubs...volunteering for political party, model un, a couple honors societies, one science award (from my school).</p>

<p>My letters of recommendation will be very good, especially from my physics teacher (im the first person in the history of his honors physics class to get above a 100 average and its a tough class that only 2-3 ppl make As in out of like 25).</p>

<p>1 essay is about why i wanna do biomedical engineering
one is about how i admire the 1960s in america...pretty interesting.
both are pretty well written. my college guidance person said i was the best writer he had ever seen that wanted to do engineering.</p>

<p>im not sure about likely letters, but i think you have a great chance of getting in</p>

<p>female engineers get a LOT of help with admissions, but even without that boost youd get in</p>
