I'm international student from S.Korea..I came here 2nd semester of 10th grade. I live in Maryland..and attending public school..

Major is PHYSICS..I like it..lol

sat: 660/800/710(2170)

sat2: japanese,math2c,physics,chemistry-800

gpa-3.9(uw)

No rank..

ap-stats,physics B(self),US gov(self),Calculus BC(self)-5

going to take Physics C/Biology/Literature..so on

ECs:AMC12-140/AIME-10 and a few more competition awards..

Anime club(11,12) math club(11,12) 80 hours of volunteer at library..

Track team(10,11,12)-varsity

Worked at Safeway 6hours a week

lack of EC.....

hook: I can speak 3 language(Korean English Japanese)

Can I make it?

Also UIUC and Berkeley..U of Maryland

And what about Williams..?

i dont really think your hook is a hook, a lot of people applying to cornell speak 3 languages (remember most applicants can be seriously classified as overachievers)

Thank you megaman..but anyway..can I make it or not..?

The hook isn't really hook, BUT a AMC/AIME are amazing....If you qualified for the USAMO, then you should also look into MIT.

Oh and I got 283 on Toefl

Um..Actually I'm not US citizen so I couldn't make USAMO..

That's hook is a joke, right? Anyways, you have a great shot with that GPA and those ECs. Colleges don't want the 40+ EC list like 1/2 the kids on this site have. They just want a few dedicated areas, which you have.

Oh A2Wolves6..you encourages me..thank you..

But I was disappointed by the fact that hook is not really hook..TT

I thought it was hook..

Earth is too wide..

IF you are not a U.S.citizen or permanent resident your admission will highly be based on your abiltity to pay because Cornell offers very little FA for international students

International Students: Financial Aid
Citizenship and eligibility:United States citizens and permanent residents, Canadian citizens and permanent residents, and Mexican citizens are eligible for consideration for the financial aid and financing options described on the Financial Aid Web site. Cornell University maintains only a very limited program of financial assistance for international students who are not citizens or permanent residents of the United States, Canada, or Mexico. Those who do receive funds have exceptional credentials and demonstrate financial need. This information is not intended to discourage you from applying, but to give you a realistic understanding of the nuances for receiving financial aid to attend Cornell.

I'll not apply FA..though I'm not rich..because I just want to be accepted and I'll pay there somehow..my parents promised that..
I'm bad son..

cornell gives fin aid to 200 or so intels a year.. but they have a huge student body..

You could apply to Cornell early decision. The acceptance rate is higher- 40%. U Maryland- safety for you.

Thank you for all of you.

Are you applying as an international student? Does that lessen your chances?

If this means youre an international school, your chances are lowered quite significantly

No in this case, just I was to say I don't have a citizenship.

I'm attending public school in Maryland..

Wait, is that mean I'm permanent resident?

Well.. I heard I'm not permanent resident..

I wish I would

bump.............................sorry

bump...............

bump..and chances for mit, caltech also..and I know that 3 language is not hook..also sorry for bump old thing..
