Chances at CSU Fullerton and San Diego, plus UCI and UCSD

Hi, I am a high school junior living in California and a US citizen.

My major would be somewhere along the lines of medicine/biology or engineering.
SAT (New) scores would be 670 Math, 710 Reading, and three “3” scores for writing. I plan to take the SAT a second time.
Unweighted GPA at 3.5, 3.7 weighted.

AP Scores are: 5 WorldHist, 4 Lang/Comp, 4 USHist
I plan to take AP Calculus, Psychology, and Government this year.

Virtually no sports and minimal club involvement as of this posting. Potential volunteering for Civil Air Patrol beginning this school year.

Thank you for reading and answering.

I would say UCI is a reach and UCSD is high reach, especially if you want to major in bio or engineering since those two are capped majors. Increase the SAT score and GPA (if possible). Idk about Fullerton but I’d say a match.

Have you calculated your CSU/UC GPA?
https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

The Cal states admit by eligibilty index and major.

(CSU/UC GPA csppwd weighted x800) + (SAT Math + CR).
Your EI if your CSU GPA is 3.7 would be 4330.
SDSU is a Match
CSU Fullerton is a Safety

Your GPA is low for the UC’s listed and UC’s are very GPA focused.

UCI is Reach and UCSD is a High Reach for your intended majors.

Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.40-3.79:

UCB: 2%
UCLA: 3%
UCSD: 6%
UCD: 15%
UCSB: 14%
UCI: 13%
UCSC: 59%
UCR: 78%
UCM: 92%

civil air patrol is a unique one … could be a good essay hook. I’d target Riverside and Merced but, the other could happen. Also, apply to some more CSUs. CSULB, Northridge Maybe Chico too - they have a small air strip about a mile from campus called Ranchaero you could fly to for a tour. The sectional says it is private but, they let all traffic in. Fuel on the field is usually pretty cheap.
