I was going to go to SCAD, but it's too expensive so I applied to FSU last week as a transfer/jr with the theatre major.
So my questions are: what are my chances of getting into the theatre program? and what are my chances of getting into FSU?
I was a salutatorian, 3.8 GPA un-weighted, ACT score of 30, dual enrolled to get my AA (which I got) and I was very active in theatre. This summer I became a published playwright after working with the Young Dramatist Project in St.Pete. I can get letters of recommendation from the director of YDP, a drama professor and my high school drama teacher.
I'd like either the BA or BFA in acting, whichever I get would be fantastic.
A lot of these things I listed aren't on my application because there was no space for them, so they probably won't matter.
Thanks for reading!! :)

If you are an upper-division transfer, only your college profile is considered. Nothing from high school matters to FSU at that point. My first question though is to ask if you are actually a transfer or did you just dual enroll during high school? Your post is confusing to me, because it sounds a lot like you’re fresh out of high school.

However, considering you just applied to FSU last week, you’re seriously pushing it to even get accepted for Fall, especially in Theatre. It generally takes 6-8 weeks for FSU’s Admissions office to give an answer, and the School of Theatre people take up to another month to send you info on how to apply to the BA or BFA program. That time frame is seriously pushing it for Fall to get into Theatre.

Your best bet at this point might be to contact the School of Theatre directly and ask whether it’s even possible to still get in for Fall.
