I'm a junior in high school now and I want to major in International Relations and Affairs, my top school choice being Georgetown.
I have a 4.0 unweighted and 4.6 or so weighted GPA
I take all the AP courses my school will let me take and the rest are Honors.
Freshman and Sophomore year I did Mock Trial and It's Academic quiz bowl team. I did National Spanish Honors Society sophomore year. I've also been a Girl Scout since I was in first grade and have earned all the awards I can. I also plan on earning the Gold and Silver Trefoil Awards, the highest in Girl Scouting.
This year I am doing a study abroad program in Italy, so I can't do the extracurriculars I was doing, but I will continue Mock Trial, It's Academic, and NSHS when I get back. I will also join the National Honors Society since I wasn't there to join it this year.
I have taken the SAT twice already (for the application to the study abroad program) and I will take it again in the Spring when juniors normally do. I know colleges don't like it when you take it a lot but since I had a reason, that will be okay right?
Anyway, I got 690 in math, 690 in reading, and 800 in writing (which Georgetown doesn't look at anyway grr)
Also I'll have lots of material for a good essay since I'm studying in Italy (and had an exchange student from Turkey freshman year) and have generally good relationships with my teachers (I am on Merit Scholarship at my study abroad program and the Director really likes me too, so I will get a good rec from him).
So what do you think my chances are? Also thoughts on Wellesley or UPenn?
Thanks!
